A 2-metre-high plant with pale yellow to dark purple flowers. Blooms from July to September. Biennial. Cut flower. Melliferous.
Sow in a nursery from April to the end of May and prick out at 50 cm in all directions, in well-drained soil with sunny exposure. Germination may take 20-30 days. Dense sowing is necessary, as the germination rate of hollyhocks is naturally low.
